| I remember that day in the forest,
The trees stood tall and proud. Reaching up to the heavens they waved at the clouds, and bowed to the wind. Yes, my love, do you remember that day? The sky so blue, the violet rays shone in your hair casting rainbows in your deep brown eyes. We lay together in the long golden grass, lovers forever we thought. Not thinking of the past, or the future. Time was stopped that day. Stopped just for us Like lustfull cats we tore at each others clothes, casting every garment away, Naked we kissed and shared that lust. Feeding hungrily like love starved beasts. Soft was your skin upon my hard flesh. Our bodies moulded like silken butterfly wings. Locked together our hearts beat only for each other. Later without words we gathered ourselves. I was with my back to you, will you come with me my love? I asked. Forget the armies with thier hate and cruel ways. On oposite sides we were, but together we could leave them behind. You and I against the world. Was this madness I asked? The bamboo creaked and leaves did fall, can you remember that sound? The tall grasses at our legs blowing in the wind, stung at our skin. You did not reply, eyes fixed to the ground, this was all the answer I would need. Upon my horse I rode away, the tears played with my cheeks as wind did bite. You stood alone amid the shadows and the sounds of nature. Weeping like I knew you would. With the gracefulness of an antelope you mounted your blue/black steed. You were coming to me my love!!! The sounds of his hooves upon the blanket of yellow leaves, was all you could hear my sweet. The horse bucked and shyed, you slid to the ground, then stood, you didnt know he was watching you, but you felt his eyes in the silence of a paused breeze. Why do you go to him he demanded. When it is I who have loved you so long. Then came the whistle of the flying dagger, cutting the wind like ice. Swiftly you took from your side a dagger too my love. With the acuracy of a bullet it met his with the sound of crashing steel. It split his in two, and half fell to the ground, but the other it flew not making a sound. Straight through your flesh it sped, ripping and burning your heart. The force knocked you back, but you stood like a rod, defiant to the end. He asked, if you loved me, and how was this so? He who had loved you or so long, you had rejected. With tears in his eyes now, searching for words, You do not have to love me, but why were you going to him? 3 days you have known him only. Yet I for a lifetime have cared. Droplets of red blood dripped from your mouth, you told him you loved me, and not him. He said you made him do it, made him kill you. For what was he to do?. Something made me pull up my horse and I heard you call me in my heart. I turned I rode like the wind back to you. Trees tried to halt my horses every stride. Like obsticles restricting my path. But I at last saw you, I saw you fall among the tall lemon grass out of sight for a moment. Rushing to your side I held you and wept as you opened your eyes. The dagger was there for me to see. The blade that spoiled your perfect body. You tried to speak, what was that you said? Turn? Turn around? As I obeyed your whispers I first saw his sword, Glinting in the suns ray. I lay you down and standing drew my weapon. I fought that that day for you my love. To avenge your pain, to avenge my anger. Such was the battles throng. We spilled much blood upon the earth , his and mine flowed together. Torn cloth and flesh entwined like a weave upon Gods land. The blows rained down hard and sharp. I felt those cuts many times. He too was wounded beyond all hope, we were like two lost souls. We fought for love, we fought for hate, we fought for honour and you. Falling hard we were as good as dead. The clouds darkened and snow began to fall from the heavens. A cold wind bit hard, and it was so dificult to see. I heard the sounds and I saw the sparks from battling steel. I was weakened and my body was tired. I felt my soul aching to go. He raised the dagger in my direction I waited for it to fly from his hand and find its target, my heart. You gathered the last few moments of your breath as you took the blade from your wound. The blood gushed out and I cried for your pain. It fell to the snowy carpet and run like a river to the sea. Your life force ebbed away like the dying tide. He and I were both the living dead. Just waiting for our souls to depart. I held you tightly and I watched you die. I sang to you remember my love? Do you remember him walking into the snowy waste as he left to meet his God? Was just you and I once again. Together we left the earth, no longer our eyes to see the sun rise in these bodies. We left our empty shells that day Free , free like that wind... I remember that day in the forest as if it was yesterday. Do you my love? Do you?
